Our Beliefs

About our Beliefs

Bible

We believe the Bible to be the word of God; that the sixty six books comprising the Old and New Testament as originally written were verbally inspired and therefore inerrant in all matters… The Bible is our final authority and our only and all-sufficient rule of faith and practice. [Luke 24:44, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, John 12:48, John 5:24, Matthew 24:35, Proverbs 30:56]

God

We believe there is one, and only one, living and true God. An infinite, intelligent spirit, the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth, inexpressively glorious in holiness, who is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent; who exists in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who are co-eternal and co-equal in all attributes, and who is worthy of all possible honor, confidence and love. [Jeremiah 10:10, Deuteronomy 4:35, Exodus 3:14, Matthew 28:19, Isaiah 40:18, Isaiah 40:28, Psalm 147:4-5, Psalms 99:9]

Christ

We believe in the virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, victorious bodily resurrection, present intercession and the personal and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe he is the eternal Son of God who took upon himself genuine humanity, without sin and without ceasing to be God. [Matthew 1:23, Matthew 1:18, 1 John 3:5-6, 1 Corinthians 15:3-7, Hebrews 7:25-26, 1 Timothy 2:5, John 14:2, Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 1:13-17]

Holy Spirit

We believe in the absolute deity and personality of the Holy Spirit; that He was active in creation; that in His relation to the unbelieving world he restrains Satan until God’s purpose is fulfilled; that he is the agent in the new birth; that he seals, guides, teaches, sanctifies and indwells every true Christian. [Acts 5:3-4, Genesis 1:1-3, 2 Thessalonians 2:7-10, John 16:8-11, John 3:5-7]

Man

We believe that man was created by God in His own image and likeness…but through disobedience he became a fallen creature, and now all mankind is totally depraved and spiritually dead in trespasses and sins. We believe that because of sin he is unable to save himself. [Genesis 1:26-28, Romans 3:10-12, Jeremiah 17:9-10, Romans 5:12, Ephesians 2:1-6]

Salvation

We believe that salvation is wholly of God, by grace, through the blood of Jesus Christ, and not on the basis of human merit or works. We believe it’s various aspects and elements are comprehended under the following doctrines: [Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5-6]

Regeneration
We believe that regeneration is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit by which divine nature and divine life are communIcated. It is instantaneous and is accomplished solely by the power of the Holy Spirit using the Word of God so as to secure voluntary obedience to the Gospel. Regeneration will be demonstrated by repentance, faith and newness of life. (2 Corinthians 5:17, 1 Peter 1:23, 2 Peter 1:4, 1 John 5:1, Titus 3:3-7)
Justification
We believe that justification before God is an act of god by which he declares righteous those who believe in Christ; that it involves the imputation of our sins to Christ and the imputation of God’s righteousness to us. He did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. (Romans 4:3-5, Romans 3:19-24)
Sanctification
We believe that sanctification is the divine setting apart of the believer unto God accomplished in a threefold manner: First, by an eternal act of god, based upon redemption in Christ, establishing the believer in a position of holiness at the moment he trusts Christ as savior. Second, a continuing process in the saint as the holy spirit applies the word of God to the life. Third, the accomplishment of this process at the lord’s return. (Hebrews 10:10-14, 1 Corinthians 1:30, John 17:17, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Ephesians 5:25-27, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4, John 3:2, Revelation 22:11)
Security
We believe that all who are truly born again will be eternally kept and fully saved. (John 6:37, 10:27-29, Romans 8:33-39, Philippians 1:6, Hebrews 7:25, Jude 24-25)
Separation
We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord, His church or fellow believers; that separation from all religious error and sinful practices and associations is commanded by God. (Romans 12:1-2, 1 Corinthians 5:11, 2 Corinthians 5:14-7:1, 2 Timothy 3:5, 4:1-5, James 4:4, 1 John 2:15-17, 2 John 9:11)

The Church

We believe a New Testament church to be a body of born again baptized believers voluntarily associated together for the worship of the Lord, mutual edification and sharing the gospel to all. We hold that the local church has the absolute right of self-government, free from the interference of any hierarchy, of any individuals or organizations and that the one and only superintendent is Christ through the Holy Spirit. We believe in the unity of all New Testament believers in the church which is the body of Christ. [Matthew 16:18, Acts 2:4-1, 20:28-32, Ephesians 1:22-23, 4:11-13, 5:23-24, Colossians 1:18, Acts 6:1-7]

Ordinances

We believe that there are but two church ordinances: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. [Matthew 3:16, John 3:23, Acts 8:36-39, Romans 6:3-6, 1 Corinthians 11:23-32, Colossians 2:2]

Future Things

We believe in the bodily, preeminent return of Christ… [1 Corinthians 15:42-44, 51-54, Philippians 3:20-21, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 3:10]

We believe that the tribulation, which follows the rapture of the church… [Revelation 19:11-21, 20:1-6 Zechariah 14:1-9, 12-19, Isaiah 9:6-7, 11:1-9, Matthew 24:29-31, Luke 1:30-33]

We believe the millennial kingdom will be followed by the great white throne of judgment where all unbelievers will be judged and sentenced eternally to the lake of fire. [Revelation 20:7-15, 2 Thessalonians 1:6-9, Luke 16:19-31, Matthew 18:6-9]
