Throughout the Scriptures, we are taught to come before God on a regular basis to seek Him in prayer, to meditate on His promises, and to memorize His Word and hide it within us. The author of Psalms writes in Psalm 1:1-2: “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.” This regular time of prayer and meditation is often referred to as our “Daily Devotions.” This is a time set aside in the day, often the first part of the day or at night before bed, where we can take some time to study a portion of Scripture, think about the truths of God’s Word, and meditate on God’s promises.
Through Campbell Baptist Church, we have a ministry called Moments in Truth. Moments in Truth is a time where we take either a chapter of the Bible or a small portion of scripture and break down the truths of God’s Word into bite size pieces. We would encourage you to join us in reading through God’s Word every day.
This month we are studying through Psalm 22-24, this is a series on the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd cares for His sheep, but who is this Good Shepherd and who are these sheep? I invite you to join us and find out.
