I’ve always enjoyed taking something that is old, worn, and tarnished and renewing it to make it look new and give it a new purpose. I enjoy seeing new purpose being created and the steps that it took to get that project completed. This is much of what Jesus does in our own lives. When we ask for forgiveness of our sins, and ask Jesus to make His home within us, He, through the Holy Spirit, cleanses the stain of sin on our lives and renews us, giving us a new life and a new purpose. 2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
We have been taking the time to go through our old church building, and renewing it to make it look new and give it a new purpose. Sometimes we see these changes in little steps and sometimes we see the changes when all of the little steps are put together. It is exciting to see the change that comes by simply renewing our focus from what once was to what it could be.
